Special guest Marcus Cida

On September 28th we had a special guest from Brazil, Marcus Cida. Besides being a professional skater, Cida has his own nationwide skateboard TV show, in Brazil, which is called “Cidade Skate” that translates to “Skate City” on Sportv channel. Along with him came pro skaters Adelmo Jr, Carlos de Andrade, Danilo Rosario, Rodrigo Petersen , Andre Genovesi and DC shoes Brazil team manager Robson Reco. Cida was spending some time here in California collecting some footage for his show, and on his last day in California he went to check out Next Up Foundation’s skateboard program, at the Boys&Girls Club of Anaheim. Once again Carlos de Andrade and Rosario were ripping and all the boys were skating well and getting a lot of inspiration from all those “pros” athletes.

We also had an ollie challenge for the kids, and at the end of the contest we had Erik and Benji engage in a separate contest. Both skaters were ollieing over the boxes which represent problems that we need to overcome in our lives, so they were battling against Drugs and Addiction plus two other unknown problems that are equally as hard to overcome. Both skaters did an amazing job overcoming the problems. However, Benji won the 1st prize – a complete skateboard! Check our gallery for more pictures.
