The coolest workshops keep happening here in our Success Lab! On April 5th, we had our friend Benjamin Verdugo from Phoenix,AZ leading the most technological workshop yet. He introduced us to animation of clips — something very trendy in the skate community.
All he needed was his Wacom Cintiq 21ux drawing tablet and the Adobe animate CC software that he pays $20 a month for its subscription.
Ben remembers that one day he was going through his Instagram feed and got bored with the same skate clips he was seeing over and over again, then he decided to do something more exciting. After starting to make some animations, he got first noticed by Franky Villani after posting an animated clip of him. After that he was introduced to professional skaters like Evan Smith, Ryan Lay, Greg Lutzka and Shane Oneill to mention a few. Ben has done jobs for Active Ride Shop, Bum Bag, OC Ramps and more! The kids were thrilled for participating on an animation of our friend and professional skater, Sewa Kroetkov. Some of the kids rated this workshop at the best we have ever had. We are excited about a second workshop and hopefully get even more participants involved. We’d like to thank Ben for coming out and sharing his passion and skills with us!
