Next Up visits The Berrics

Our first field trip of July, was an exciting one. On July 2nd, we rented a van and filled it up with 13 Next Up participants and headed over to the acclaimed LA skate spot, “The Berrics.” Our goal was to get a tour of their facility and learn more about them as an industry-leading brand.
Ryan Denman, general manager of The Berrics, led the tour and took us to observe the video editing, social media management, website coding, accounting, and the online store — introducing us to each person from each department. After that we all got to skate their renowned skatepark, shoot photos and film some clips. We also got to watch three games of SKATE (Battle at The Berrics 11), which they are already filming and getting ready to release the first games soon.
It was another field trip that had a tremendous impact on our participants, and without being part of Next Up few young skaters would ever get that kind of opportunity.
