Next Up SKATE Team

The idea for a Next Up Skate Team has been on the drawing board for a while now, but it became a reality because of the generous sponsorship from our friends at SkateOne, DVS Shoes and Vans.  Each company is donating monthly care packages full of skate gear and goodies to our team members. Based on outstanding enthusiasm, attendance, skateboarding ability, and academic performance, four students were chosen to represent Next Up as the first members of our team.  In exchange for certain benefits, such as flow for skate product, special field trips, and connection to industry resources, members of the team will hold greater accountability within Next Up.  The NUF Team will be expected to act as positive role models for the rest of our crew and support the mentors during daily activities.  Since school is always the top priority, team members must demonstrate a commitment to continually improving academic progress throughout the school year.  It is our hope that the NUF Team members grow to become leaders within Next Up and beyond.

We would like to offer a warm welcome to Andrew Mendez, Brandyt Hernandez, Leo Chavez, and Mark Miller.  These four young men have proven to be fire on the board, helpful in the classroom, and hyped for the future of Next Up.  We couldn’t be more proud of our crew. We would like to thank our sponsors for the continued support of Next Up and for their belief in our youth.
