On Tuesday, June 21st, our community came together with the City of Anaheim to celebrate our 7th anniversary, International Go Skateboarding Day, and the grand opening of headquarters. According to Founder, Vinicius Tinoco, it was our biggest and most successful event to date, bringing together about 200 excited people for food, fun, and skateboarding.
DJ Vince kept the good vibes rolling all day, spinning tracks that represented all genres of skateboarding influence, from old school hip hop to classic punk rock. Vans came through in style, loaded with giveaways and with Steve van Doren on the BBQ, grilling up burgers and hot dogs for the guests. Mayor Tom Tait made a special appearance to support Next Up and cut the ribbon at the grand opening ceremony of our first building. The space, awarded to us by the City of Anaheim, will be used to offer academic tutoring, college preparation, and workshops hosted by industry professionals.
