On April 24th, graphic designer and skateboarder, Andres Alfonso, came to Next Up to teach graphic design for his 4thtime to, again, a new group of students; however, this was our first time proudly providing Adobe Illustrator software for the participants to experience using the tools of professional graphic designers.
After a detailed presentation on the importance of graphic design in skateboarding, students started to sketch up their own board designs. Because of the length of the workshop, we divided the activity into two days. The second day, students had the opportunity to see their own hand-made designs be transferred to the computer screen.
The reaction of each participant was really rewarding, and according to their own feedback, their favorite part was definitely working on the computer. Big shout out to Andres Alfonso for once again leading this activity at Next Up!
