Filming & Editing Workshop

The Success Lab is rapidly becoming one of the most valuable resource centers available for youth in Anaheim.  We offer a number of unique learning opportunities to our students through workshops on various topics somehow connected to the skateboarding industry (graphic design, mural art, entrepreneurship, engineering, journalism, etc).

It was our goal to expose our participants to one of the most relevant element of skate culture: filming and editing.  On April 17th, Next Up enthusiastically hosted its first filming and editing workshop in collaboration with international filmer Daniel Galli (Barcelona, Spain) and professional skateboarders Sewa Kroetkov (Holland) and Alex Carolino (Brazil).  Our participants learned the ins and outs of handling the equipment, understanding composition and angles, filming techniques while skateboarding, and how to put clips together into a proper edit.  The kids were engaged and eager to applying their newfound knowledge to their own skateboarding.
