Digital Media / Podcast Workshop

During our Digital Media/Podcast Workshop (led by Janete Weinsten), 12 Next Uppers were able to have hands on experience on how to create your own podcast.

The initiative is just one of the many offered by Next Up Foundation, which seeks to empower teenagers with skills to be used in the future. This special podcast workshop focused on female skateboarders in celebration of women’s month. The purpose was to showcase the achievements of female athletes and feature their success story – to be produced by the participants. Janete was just as excited as the participants were to hear the final product:

“My biggest reward is to see their dedication in accomplishing the assignment I gave them. The look in their eyes, the complete immersion in getting their story done, the devotion to apply what they just learned, I was left speechless”

We look forward to having Janete back for another podcast workshop – which is sure to fill up quickly!
