We have been working really hard in order to clean, organize, and prepare our new headquarters since the City of Anaheim gave us sole access to a 6000 square-foot building next to the local skate park. We have been eager to finally begin receiving our participants. On Saturday, September 17, 2016, Next Up Foundation hosted its official grand opening party with the support of some fabulous partners: Big Dream Society, FaveLA, Powell-Peralta, Dwindle Distribution, Diamond Supply Co., and Vans. It was our most incredible event yet, a day filled with impressive skateboarding, big smiles, and a tasty barbecue provided by Vans. Our sponsors delivered tons of much-appreciated gear and giveaways for our guests.
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our accomplishments and toast our big plans to serve the youth community. Currently, we provide after-school homework help, skateboarding sessions, and yoga classes, along with a safe, chill space to hang out and play ping pong or pool. We are close to announcing upcoming workshops and classes, to include English and math tutoring, computer labs and classes, college preparation assistance, and art, music, video & photography, and entrepreneurship workshops.
